RWSN is running a competition to send a young water professional to Stockholm World Water Week (August 25-30, 2019) to report on the issues relevant to the rural water sector and to young people in particular.

We are looking for a young water professional with a knack for communicating complex topics to broad audiences, social media –savviness, and a passion for working on water issues at the local level. Your mission: to attend Stockholm World Water Week, and disseminate the information from the conference to RWSN members via our social media accounts, online communities and blog.

Social media contest: What does “Water for Society – Including All” mean to you?

This year, the theme of Stockholm World Water Week 2019 is Water for Society – Including All. What does “Water for Society – Including All” mean to you? Share your story or experience for a chance to win the RWSN 2019 competition and a trip to Stockholm World Water Week (August 25-30, 2019).  This social media contest will open on Tuesday, June 25th and end on Tuesday, July 9th.

How to participate:

  1. What do you think is needed for “Water for Society – Including All” to be a reality in your country?
  2. What does inclusivity means to you, in relation to the water sector? What barriers did you or others face? How did (or could) you overcome these barriers?

Your story can be about past or present experiences, somewhere where you have lived or travelled to, a situation that you have encountered personally or that you have witnessed others encounter... It can be about your ideas on how to overcome barriers for people who are excluded from the water sector, or about practical solutions that you have seen or created.

Once your story has been shared, please encourage others to see/ read it! Social media engagement with your story (likes, shares, retweets..) will be one (but not the only) criterion on which your entry will be judged.
