An online survey was launched on the 14th February 2013 in order to develop an understanding of current experiences of manual drilling from around the world. This document summarises the responses for those who participated.
A total of 50 people from 40 different organisations, working in over 25 countries responded to the survey. Manually drilled wells provide water for drinking, as well as agriculture in at least 23 countries. The survey showed that there is considerable scope for sharing and learning both within and between countries.
