The Water Integrity Network (WIN) is a network of organizations and individuals promoting water integrity to reduce corruption and improve water sector performance worldwide. WIN works to raise awareness on the impact of corruption especially on the poor and disenfranchised, assesses risk and promotes practical responses.
The network’s vision is a world with equitable and sustained access to water and a clean environment, which is no longer threatened by corruption, greed, dishonesty and wilful malpractice.
WIN connects, shares the knowledge, and promotes the organizations and individuals who support integrity in their own work and the work of the water sector worldwide.
WIN was founded by IRC, SIWI, Swedish Water House, Transparency International and the World Bank Water and Sanitation Programme in 2006 to respond to increasing concerns among water and anti-corruption stakeholders regarding the impact of corruption in the water sector.
The work of the Water Integrity Network is made possible thanks to the funding of the governments of Germany (via BMZ), the Netherlands (via DGIS), Sweden (via Sida) and Switzerland (via SDC) and to the generous funding and contributions in kind from members and partners.
