Powerful women, healthy societies. Simavi believes that strong women benefit the whole community. Therefore, it is our mission to fight for equality and overcome barriers for women and girls to claim their human rights to water and sanitation. Empowered women and girls don’t just improve their own situation but also that of those around them. For nearly a century, Simavi has been working for a healthy and equal world in regions where this is far from self-evident. We have established strategic partnerships with organisations from 10 African and Asian countries. Our work is set amongst the Sustainable Development Goals and Simavi specifically focuses on three interrelated SDGs: water and sanitation (SDG6), Gender equality (SDG5) and climate action (SDG13). Our vision is a world in which all women and girls enjoy their human rights to water and sanitation, resulting in healthier and just societies.
