In Somali language, the acronym of the Association (RAAS) has two useful meanings for the cultural heritage, social and economic life of the Somali people. It first denotes “HABITATION” and secondly “FAMILY”. The Rainwater Association of Somalia (RAAS) is non-governmental, not-for-profit and non-partisan national membership association that brings together with individuals and institutions of diverse professional backgrounds including but not limited to NGOs, CBOs; private sector, academics and research institutions.

Our vision is sustainable livelihoods and socio-economic developments equal to all people in Somalia and our mission is to promote rainwater harvesting management with principles of integrated water resource management (IWRM) and complementary climate resilient/market oriented technologies and services for improved WASH, food/nutrition security and sustainable natural resources management in partnership with other stakeholders.
