Information

Hamada Community Development Foundation was established in 2004 as Desert Youth Initiative. It started as a Youth Social Research Group that was mainly concerned with the youth political participation and the essence was to generate and develop baseline data and information on the socio-political situation of our youth that could be used by Government and Development Institutions for planning to empower youth. The Organization works primarily for young men and women's empowerment. It is a forum for addressing issues affecting young men and women including children. It is equally aimed at strengthening the civil society through networking with other organizations.

However, after series of constructive engagements with the community members, the organization realized that there was need for all-inclusive approach to community development. This necessity called for redirection of focus, which also compelled the founding members to rename the organization "Hamada Community Development Foundation", which was later registered with Yobe State Ministry of Youth, Social and Community Development and subsequently with Cooperate Affairs Commission (CAC), Nigeria.
